I rather like the weed showing in these photos nodding . Looks like a lot of seedlings. If things go well, you should be having fun in the next bloom season.

When did you start them, Daniel? Did you start them indoors? They look great! Looking forward to see bloom from them next year.

Wow! Exciting days are ahead of you! By the way, in my opinion, you are pert near weedless! I could show you a daylily bed of mine that looks more like a weed sanctuary, but on second thought....nope. ;)

If you don't mind me asking, what is the orange, daisy looking flower in the later pictures? It sure is pretty.

Thanks Karen. Some of them I started by using the paper towel method then transplanted in pots. A few where directly sown in pots, and Donald was kind enough to trade a bunch of established seedlings with me. I still have about 120 more seedlings in pots that I started this past spring and will put them in the ground next spring.

Great looking seedlings, Daniel. I have grown the Profusion Zinnia's the last three years, and absolutely love them, great color and easy to grow.

Gale do they come true from saved seeds if no other colors are around. Another friend said she's been saving seeds for 2 years and they come true but another friend said they are a hybrid and won't Confused

Daniel, those are looking great! Thumbs up I agree with Cynthia... you do not need to pardon yourself for any weeds... If you saw my garden beds, you would think mine was a weed sanctuary, too. This year it has been thistle, in particular; but I also get unwanted grass and this strange plant that looks almost succulent-like and is apparently edible, according to my neighbor (she ate it right in front of me and said her mom used to put it in salads). The weeds and unwanted grass were easily twice as difficult to handle compared to last year.

Thanks DND the weed you are talking about is Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) you can eat it but not it's look alike that has red specks on the foliage. I have purslane in my garden too but I kind of like it's succulent look so I keep it when I see it.

Daniel, your babies look awesome. The zins too- I like bright oranges in zinnias.. Thumbs up
I grow the tall ones for cut flowers. And save the seeds every year. I've had a couple of interesting hybrids and variation in petals. But they're a staple since they're easy to grow and I love sharing the flowers with my neighbors.
Thumb of 2016-10-23/ShakespearesGarden/70112d

This is a row about 10 feet long and 3 feet wide- about 2.5 feet tall.

And you can have all (well, most) of my purslane. My gardens grow a bunch of it. Still haven't tried it yet...
