Received an e-mail from Adelman's today saying the peony is not available now but will be dug and divided next fall (2017). Most likely it will be in very short supply so anyone interested in a FL hybrid of deep rose color may want to put their bids in early as quickly as their 2017 catalog is posted. I put my name into the hat for one.

I think the foliage color on AO is incredibly pretty as well, wonder if they'll call it Adelman's Orphan or just "fernleaf hybrid".....

When I discussed purchasing another from them, I mentioned how I had named mine and that others had joined in. I will need to recheck their catalog but I believe they had an fern leaf hybrid with no name or pedigree. I think it was called a fuchsia color rather than the typical red. Could be this one.

I think this is the one they sold as P.tenuifolia rosea, aka Adelman's Orphan. The color was magenta instead of fuchsia.

Hi Jerry! The above link for the hybrid fernleaf is definitely NOT the one you got last fall that you named Adelman's orphan. I do not believe they offer Adelman's orphan this year. The fernleaf hibrid has 8-9 petals of magenta color whereas Adelman's orphan has 12-14 petals and opens red and turning rose red upon maturing.

At first glance, I thought there may be a difference. The fl hybrid was $20 but AO was $30.
