on these large coleus?
I cant believe I am starting to look at container plants before the January catalogues come out.
Mostly I want to know how they performed for you.
Sunstroke
Big Enchilada
Big Red Judy
Camilla
Lemon Lime
Pineapple Prince.
I had grown dark leaved coleus in this spot in past.Mahogany Giant (teriffic plant)
Jungle Love ( loved this ,hurts to make a change, might get it for the other garden)
Kingwood Karnival( I might use this again) I am looking to see if lighter leaved coleus would make a red Imaption pop.

I knew I could count on you. I had Citrus Swirrl,Dr.Wu and Apaloosa that just failed from the moment I planted them.

Hi Joanne, I grew Lemon & Lime this year. It didn't color up pretty at all.I wanted something to make the bright colors pop. A coleus I have grown for 2 years now is Pele. It plays well with other colors. It would be pretty with red impatiens. In the Rosy Dawn photo it looks like it has a lot of red or,pink coloration, but it didn't look like that for me.It even makes a nice greenhouse plant in the winter.A nice golden chartreuse.

Thanks Doris.I will add Pele to my wishlist.
I had large dark leaved coleus in the back and wanted to use lighter colors next season just for a change. I will use Kingwood Karnival again.

For a big healthy bright green, Electric Lime was great. Loved it.

Butter Creme was pretty. It stayed smaller for me but it didn't get much sun either.

I think Glory would make red flowers pop.

Thumbs up

And Butter Creme was a pretty one, a healthy plant. It just stayed kind of small but that could have been because it didn't get enough sun where I had planted it.

Glory is another that I think would have been better, turned more yellow, if planted in more sun. Rosy Dawn didn't say that it was sun tolerant so I didn't give it much sun. Did you find Glory sun tolerant?

Glory is a fav of mine and it does look great in mostly sun. I have it with Elfers. It does get yellow and the spots are bloodred.

This is with Mahogany Giant. I believe mine never got bigger than RD said it would. In other words a medium is a medium.

I'm going to give mine more sun next year. (If I don't kill the one cutting I have going. So far, so good). The yellow is so pretty.

The cuttings change with winter. Stop me if this isnt news.
Mine turned green and didnt grow much. By spring and potted outside for the summer it really took off.

Mine just didn't get enough sun where it was planted through summer, so background color stayed more green than yellow. Next year, more sun for it!

Glory did stay a nice healthy plant. My cutting is of course pretty green inside the house. Nice and healthy looking though.
