This grows wild in my new yard, But what is it?
I think I'll try it in a hanging basket.

I've never seen any flowers on it, but will keep on eye out for it. I'm going to take a piece of it to the nursery tomorrow and see what they say about it.

I think I had that in my garden once and eventually dug it up and got rid of it because it never had blooms. Space is too much of an issue for me to have non-blooming things in my garden. Besides, it started vining up into other plants and pulling them over sideways.

Got it ID!! Asparagus asparagoides Hurray!
I'm going to put it in a hanging basket on the porch. It will look great trailing down the side of the porch.

Most consider it a weed, and it is invasive and forms these thick mats of prickly roots. All that aside, it grows a lot on my property and I let it because when it flowers the air is scented with the scent of orris root,or violets. I also love the way it looks...very tenacious, but looks so delicate.
edited to add that I don't know if it will trail down for you. It's natural inclination is to go straight up and it will most likely climb whatever it is hanging from......

It may be invasive so probably best to dig it from the yard and keep it contained if you plan on keeping it:

I have an acre and a half and I'm happy to see it come up wherever it likes. I know what it will smell like there when it flowers..lol.

I'll try to get a better picture of it. It seems to sprawl so I think I can get it to hang in a basket.

Will be waiting for flowers so I can see what they smell like.

I love the scent of asparagus sprengeri in flower also. To me it seems to have rather warm, 'buttery' overtones.....
