Our area has been missed once again for rain. Of all the rain we have had in Tucson, this summer, the total at my house has been only around a third of an inch. Crying No lacking in the humidity department, however. ( we have a swamp cooler ) . Very discouraging. Sad

Wow, Linda. That is very discouraging. Do you know your average rainfall over say the last 15 years? Just wondering if this stat is WAY below annual average to date? I'm curious. I think PHX avg. rainfall is about 7 inches a year and of course we're below average, too. Probably all of the southwest is low from here east into the southeast. Worrisome and hopefully temporary!

I do not know the average rainfall the last 15 years, exactly, but I do remember when my yard would flood from the rains, lush grass, and bushes from all the rain. It has been years since I have seen that. Used to have lots of toads show up as well. This year I was shocked to see one in the yard a few days ago. It has been many years since I saw toads as well. My area of town has definitely changed, sadly. I watch on the radar as the storms just split and go around this NW side of town. Strange. Blinking

Susie, I checked and Tucson's average rainfall is about 11 inches. I am involved with Rainlog.org. I report everyday on the amount of rain in my gauge. This is done all year long. They are trying to get a better measurement of how much and where the rain is falling in Tucson so there are volunteers in all parts of town doing this. I have always said that no ones lives at the airport , but that is always where the measurements officially are taken. Just wish I had more to report !! Rolling on the floor laughing

I used to have toads too. Even within the last couple of years at this new house I have ( 20 yrs old). You know the Native American fetish, toad? It's meant that you bury that fetish in a place where water will settle (a pond, say) in hopes that the rainfall will occur. I think we should all pick one up at, well I know Heard Museum as beautiful fetish's, and bury one. Rolling my eyes. Expensive, however!

Wind tells me it will come south but whether there's anything left is questionable. Looks like it's pouring in east Scottsdale Camelback area.
