I check NOAA for weather, they have been WAY off. They are forecasting 60% heavy rains tonight...whatever...

We have been blessed again this evening with a long gentle rain that so far is at .20. With it came a strong cool breeze and it is now 68 F. I put most of my fall decorations up today so the rain and cool air has made it feel like Fall is almost here.

Funny, we live in a desert and expect it! But, I understand from decades past it used to rain often in the early evenings during summer.

It rained often in the later afternoons when I was young and almost every single afternoon at our cabin near the Mogollon Rim.

When I first moved here I remember the storms in the day. Around 1 or 2 in the afternoon the big storms would come in . The last few years it seems they are in the late afternoon thru the evening. I do not care when they come as long as they do.

me too but no hard rain ... a nice slow and steady drizzle! It smells heavenly.

I was too tired last night to post but we received more rain in the evening. This time it was .35 ! Once again the night air was cool and wonderful. This has been such a treat this week. The rain was a gentle soaking one that caught us by surprise !

Official records here in Prescott say we got 1" on the 12th, and we've been getting sprinkles of about .1 inch several times a week since early August. I haven't watered the garden for four or five days, yet when I pulled up deep rooted weeds yesterday they came out easier than they have in months. I'm finally looking forward to sunny, dry weather

Parts of Tucson were blasted this afternoon with up to 2 inches of rain. So far not a drop where we live. Big clouds overhead so there is hope.

Isn't rain amazing in a dry state? in Oregon and Washington, they are happy dancing for sunshine!

Steve, I love Prescott weather.... I'm sure your ready for drier weather...I'll happily trade you!

I'm soooo happy that you guys got some rain. We had 10 days of beautiful warm sunny weather while we were camping and got to see the full moon rise over the lake.
