I hope theses won't interfere with an article. They shouldn't, because you could never tumble enough at your home to fill up a garden pathway. I just thought they are very interesting.
Plus at Cubits we have several places tolearn about glass projects, like Budgielover's.

Interesting....I have saved glass and pottery for years (folks who didn't know will think me crazy if I die and they find it all broken in boxes in the basement...but oh well, no worry what they think then anyway!) Because I managed during my working years in a manufacturing facility that made Harley and John Deere parts (amongst others), we had many large tumblers. We did some tests on tumbling glass for me when there was opening on the machines and found that sand was not the best first media. The shop manager used a larger media and we had beautiful results. I quit that job before I knew more but, with the manufacturing recession right now I would suggest that it might not be a bad idea to check machine parts manufacturers as a resource for knowledge and service.

wow that is really nice!!!!.. I am soo impressed!!!.. when you told me about it.. I am going yeah.. glass.. good idea.. but I have to take my nasty unbelieving thoughts... it's wonderful!!!!... I was thinking you had huge shards of glass there... sigh.. me and my silly brain.. now that I see it.. I wish we were closer too!!!.. I have a big pick up!!!!
Those are interesting links, Nap. We bought one of the Harbor Freight ones for DGS's rock collection. It would run night and day in the garage. I never trusted it, and figured it would eventually burn down the house. It did tumble rocks well...and I bet it would do glass too. I was just too skittish leaving it running day and night.

Our threads take on a life of their own, don't they? I'm asking Sandi to also stat a new thread about Garden glass...I can't really move this all over to a new thread without a proper beginning.
Sandi it is cool and lovely here at my house. Want to make this your first stop with that big UHaul?
Sure, I would have to live in Dallas, Oregon and not Dallas, Texas. I could have had a bunch of that tumbled glass from Sandi.
You can use an old electric cement mixer. It really works, just has to run a long time. : )
I just found this thread again and can't believe how funny we all were in the beginning of ATP. I was looking for photos of the glass to re-post and wound up reading the whole thread. Where's nap? Why isn't she posing any more photos of her mural? I hijacked her thread with the recycled glass and I'm sorry...a little....
That's okay, Sandi! If you recall, I went along with the hijack.......full steam!! And anyway, I love that this thread got to be so many pages long. (4 on my computer)
I haven't done a thing with the glass, darn it! My life sort of got hijacked too. But in a good way. Come summer, I may get my old life back...
Good to see you posting, nap. As I approach my "Medicare years" next month, I don't like hearing "get my old life back." I want my young life back! I still have a t-shirt that says "If I Had Known I Was Going To Live This Long, I'd Have Taken Better Care of Myself!" It was so funny when I got it.....20 yrs ago! Be sure and let us see what you decide to do with the glass. 'And share with us any more projects your talented son has done.
