Are you a gardener who plants annuals for the cooler season, or do you call it a year and let your landscape be bare until spring?

With the temps down below freezing for the next 6 months we've really got no choice but to leave the gardens alone.
I sure do envy you folks that can grow things in the winter!!
I rely on my house plants to give me some much needed green life.

No choice here either. I think it would be fun to be planting a winter garden now. We've already had an 18 degree night. Our growing season between hard frosts is about 115 days if some frost protection is provided in spring and fall. That's what they say is average, 89 days is safe without frost. Believe me, we really push the seasons here!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

We have snow this morning, and I am stringing pumpkin lights in the snow.
My gardening efforts continue, but in the house mostly.
We can still do clean up and pruning though most things have gone dormant.
The ground is now frozen yet so I will dig in the rest of the tulip bulbs.
