Gordon Hawkins' Brooklyn roof garden is well known in gardening website circles. He frequently posts photos of his exotic and eclectic collection of brugmansias, passifloras, clerodendrons, and more. The source of many brugmansia collections has been his generous free cuttings in late fall each year. Gordon also freely shares his clever directions for building planters and patio furniture from foam insulation boards.

Sure Mary Ann... how are you... well the plants I got there had a wonderful run for me here.. I enjoy the FLALA group.. I've made it the last few years.. and I've hopes of this spring there also.. a great bunch of gardeners... and plenty of plants floating about.. and the camping if great.. it's a spur to get me out of town.. which gets me down to see mother.. and other friends/relatives in the general area.. to
get some things planted for her and them.. have fun ..we'll see you in the spring...
I do need to get down for the fall things with mother.. and she's got a new snow leopard Bengal kitten for me to come home with.. I got her into breeding Bengals about 15 years ago...with a lovely male I gave her
out of my Bengal blood lines.. she's got a bunch of them now her cattery is breeding regularly.. along with all of her coccers...she breeds also... she's passed her mule genes along to me at birth ... and we've the Peter Pan syndrome working...for/on us also...

Hi Gordon, says Ginger waveing. Looking foreward to seeing you again come spring at the Florala swap. Be sure to check in with Pam as we will likely be at a different location...not far from the park and easy to find.

Great article...your rooftop garden is truely awsome Smiling Smiling

Gordon, won't your cushions get soaked through?
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others.
