My yard is covered in yellow this time of year with plants growing wild.

Well, I've had more fun searching!
The closest I can find is Chrysopsis scabrella.. but I can't see the close detail of leaves and stems.

It's in your area although not listed on the local site..

There's also Chrysopsis subulata but the flowers droop on that.

For some reason I can't pull up the 2nd link, but looking at the 1st I do believe that it is scabrella..
