Just love the stalks of the Amorphophallas, Jim! I have one variety and always am fascinated at the striations of the stalks. Mine is nowhere near the size of yours.
Such a fascinating plant!

Great show Jim! Love your garden! In contrast, I spent part of yesterday raking snow off parts of my garden so I could cut it down! What a mess. Ugh! Thumbs down

Jim, your garden is , as always...a spectacle !
Kathy, there's not much worse in my opinion than having to clean the
garden after the snow...it's so much easier when done on your time table..
wish I could help!

After today, I may have been cured of my affinity to Morning Glories. We cleaned the back gardens and dead vines growing just .....all over!
The birds are eatting the purple Beautyberries.
Tomorrow may plant the bulbs so the voles will have food all winter! Yuk!. Hilarious!

The folks on the Lily forum all claim that Daffodils planted among them keep the voles at bay. Worth a try. I don't know if it works for gophers, but I'm going to put some in the one bed that has no Daffs, since I am now cat-less, except for the ferrals.

Does not work for these voles, anyways. They ate everything EXCEPT the Daffodils! They have to be killed...only way. I know alot of people hate that, but otherwise you can kiss your garden goodbye around here. They eat the roots of big trees and they topple over. They eat all the roots to rosebushes, not to mention every bulb (cept Daffs)....

I've been following that. Hope your bait system continues to work. While I love animals, I don't think the loss of any rodents in this country would be devastating to mankind.

I should send up my landloard, the red-shouldered hawk. He'd make short work out of them.

I am very happy I have a cage in my backyard to house the orchids over the Summer.
This was the scene at 6:40 this morning.
The Doe stood in front of the cage, but by the time I got my camera ready, she had moved partly over the fence towards the neighbor. The Buck then followed her leisurely.

Janice, we were stunned!! The next park isn't exactly around the corner. They have never made it into our area so far. It seems our backyards have become a wildlife preserve!
