growing ANYTHING from a flask is an accomplishment as far as I'm concerned...great job Bree!
Slc. Jewelers Art 'Waiomao Plum' HCC/AOS is finally starting to open..
Name: Melissa E. Keyes St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands Zone 11+
The first one looks like little snarling, excited monsters to me. The last one is darker than in the photo and has a very fine edge of white. That's why I bought them. The middle one is ... well, another colorful Dendrobium!
Thanks for the compliments. I'm fertilizing the Botanical Garden's plants more regularly, and should be getting some interesting blooms eventually. I need a better camera! Since I always like to add a photo to every post, another photo!
Say, if anyone knows of affordable "antelope" dendrobiums, please let me know. I found one online vendor, but the plants started at $250.00, ouch!
Here are a few bloomers -
Angraecum Shooting Stars
It has 3 blooms and they seem to have trouble straightening out. Perhaps I turned them into a different/wrong direction moving my plants inside. In addition one of the blooms had lost the tip of the spur. But they are pretty, I think.
Another plant of Blc Dennis Kone 'Lakeview' opened a couple of spikes.
Dendrobium bigibbum var compactum is a bit of a wild plant.
Galeandra baueri managed to open some blooms
Holcoglossum wangii - I am tickled pink to see some blooms opening, a first for me!
Pleurothallis tripterantha -
Sophronitis cernua is a very cute miniature, the mount is now attached to a small treefern ring.
Renanetia Sunrise 'Prasong' is opening some more buds
What do you rekon this is? Tagged portia, i thought it looked like Anceps, a mate on another website thinks its Interceps. Any thoughts? The petals have gotten curly now.
opened like this...
and now the petals have curled like this...
the leaves on the plant are small/short.
