tarev,
Your top picture is opposite of what I sent. Euphorbia lactea is the smaller piece and is harder. Has some sharp spines, although small. Stapelia Gigantea (Starfish Flower) is softer to the touch. It may take a year or so for it to get large enough to bloom. Also mine bloom in the late summer while they are outside. I have never noticed any smell but I never tried to get a whiff. I never saw any flies around it and I never got any seed pods from them. I am going to get a Stapelia Grandiflora this spring. It looks exactly alike only the flower is redder. Hetty knows more about them than me. I am new on these.

Thanks Alan and Tee for the feedback! A bit reassuring Big Grin I am planning to move some succulents around so I can give space for this new ones..I guess I have to plant these little ones for the time being indoors, it is still hitting low 40's night time to early morning..

Mark, (a2b1c3)- I have Eve's Needle or Austrocylindropuntia subulata to trade if you do not have this one yet, can trade a cutting from it..or anyone who may wish to trade..I have other succulents to trade, already posted earlier on in page 1 of this thread.

Oh I wish I had found this thread earlier, Hetty, I would have sent you several things that didn't make it (or look pretty ratty) through my colder winter, some of my precious aeoniums and aloes that I had at my last house where it was a bit warmer. 9b to 9a makes a difference as I found out my first winter here.

Well, pay no attention to me today, tarev. Too many tornadoes distracting us. They're everywhere here -- a horrible outbreak -- and the evening/night hasn't even arrived yet. Sad I hope Sheryl is okay.

Yes, be safe...your in my prayers. Tornado's bite!! In more ways than one. I've only experienced one tornado in my life, years ago, when I was a kid, and we lived in Illinois for a short time. They are no fun!

Tee, I hope you are still okay - your area got hit this evening, didn't it???

We were in a safe pocket - just barely. But as they say in baseball, a near miss is as good as a mile.... whew!

We're good, Sheryl. Thanks. That cell was east of us and more toward N'ville, I think. Our worst storm came through before daylight. What a mess many places right now. So sad. Really puts things in perspective. Sad

Glad you are all OK. I've seen the pictures on the news and it looks terrifying. Such sad things happened in some areas. I guess I like hurricanes better now, we know they are coming.
