Twice today I transferred Acorns to another person. The first time I transferred 27 and after the transfer was sent a message that I could not transfer more Acorns than I owned...The 27 I transferred had disappeared from my 'Acorn Holdings'..I figured it was a glitch, didn't matter. Just now I transferred 15 that I had just been given for database posts and the same thing happened again...Acorns gone and then a message saying I couldn't give more than I had. Anyone else having this problem?

Sherry, I have the full record of all acorn transactions here and I see the transactions you are referring to.

The acorns were successfully transferred, and the recipient was successfully notified. Their acorn count was incremented appropriately and yours was decremented appropriately. So you can rest assured that all worked as it should in that department.

As for the error you received, I will look into this but if it happens to you again, would you let me know?

I know what you mean there. Smiling

I am wondering if you might have double-clicked the send button when you sent the acorns, sending the request twice. The first request would have gone fine but the second one found insufficient acorns. It's the only guess I can come up with. Do you know if you clicked once or double-clicked on the button?

Either way, I should try to find a way to not do it twice if you click twice. That would be a problem.

I am pretty sure that's what is happening here. I am making it a high priority to get to that and fix it so that a double click is ignored.

I think someone asked this before but I can't find the thread. Will there ever be a way of giving acorns anonymously? Geesh, I had to google to get the correct spelling of the word. Big Grin

Well, I don't know how often anonymous giving would be needed. If it is something that a lot of people want then I can do it.

In the meantime, if you want to anonymously give acorns to someone, send the acorns to me and then reply to the tree mail that got created by the system, and let me know who you want them sent to, and I will pass it along. You can also include an optional message that you would want me to copy/paste to the user.

Dave: If a bunch of folks began doing it anonymously through you it would make for a lot more work on your end and you have enough to do already! So, I will continue to share with individuals and send a note via Tree-mail. I just thought it would be fun to have "Anonymous Acorn Sharing" with a generic note telling the recipient to enjoy them for their own barter or to feel free to pay them forward to someone else if they already have a large stash. I realize everyone can earn acorns by helping with the database, but I think there may be some who are new to gardening and also a few elders who may not be computer savvy that could benefit from the fun of collecting and sharing acorns. And, there are some around here who deserve Acorns because of their great attitude in this wonderful gardening community.

Lin, I was thinking that just last night - how there are many people here who contribute to the well-being of ATP without doing specific tasks for which they 'earn' acorns. Like the people who organize roundups or co-ops, for instance! So I agree that they should get acorns too.... and we can just send it to them saying 'because of what you do for ATP'.
