At least it was warm today. We've been having drizzle every day. It's great for the drought situation and I won't complain. Just would like a dry day once in a while!

Send some of that rain this way! We've had chances of rain, but no sign of actually wet stuff. Maybe tonight...

Hope you get some of this! We're doing okay for now, so if it goes east, that would be okay too!

Turned the water outside off again and opened spigots. Brought in the hummingbird feeders over night. Haven't seen any hummers but you never know. I saw a dagonfly yesterday of all things. I never see them until summer around here (FW TX)and they usually disappear before fall. It was in upper 40s today but getting close to freezing tonight for sure maybe drop lower.

Got some rain last night, but not sure how much...I found the gauge on the ground (darn critters probably). Lows will be in 30's until Tuesday. Still have hummers visiting, but don't see them much...I think they fly around a lot less when temps are low. And I do think there's someone else in the area with feeders also. But today I spotted a hummer twice. It's so nice not having to water the plants...that's so special!

Front coming in tonite. Supposed to freeze Monday night. I opened the hoop houses and checked on everything. The condensation off the plastic has kept the plants watered "just enough," I think. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we don't get a really sustained freeze this winter.
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year and a safe one. We're sitting tonight with DGS and his dog over here while his parents go out.

I was out this afternoon covering up a few things. It was 75 today! Quite a few of my bulbs are coming up. Tonight it will be 39, and tomorrow night it will be 29 here. I love the winter/warm weather. Not too excited about freezes. Oh well, at least it's we're not in Alaska!

Tomorrow is supposed to be our "cold" day this week: in the 60s; the rest of the week has been/ will be in the 70s. I am quite pleased to have less winter this year!

Y'all enjoy. This may be our spring, and summer may start in March. I really hope not, but I am so not trusting Texas weather after last year.

Me either, Pat. I'm already dreading summer. I had forgotten how hot our spring was last year.
I wanted to order a bunch of bulbs from chef Mike's co-op. The more I wrote down, the more I realized I would have to keep them all watered for a long...... hot...... summer and fall. I'm paring my order down. I do think bulbs that return each spring are the way to go, at least for me.

January does seem a bit warmer than December...maybe not, maybe it'll turn cold again. The long-vacant property next door is off the market, sign is down. And last weekend a family were over there working on it for a bit. There'll be a lot to be done on it, that's for sure. It has no a/c or heat left, no appliances. Patching holes and such shouldn't be TOO hard. But it might stay unoccupied for a while, unless the new owners have enough money to get a/c and heat put back in...and they'd need a fridge and stove too.
