We love to talk about all aspects of weather, the effect on our gardens, and on our lives. It's a good place to keep a record of weather in our gardens from year to year too, so for that reason let's stay as close to the topic as we can. Please join us and tell us about your weather.

Starting off this first day of winter partly cloudy with 16F. Feels pretty good after the -7 of yesterday! Thumbs up

A light rain in the night, .08, but lots more on the way. Coming from the south so it is a fairly warm system.

No, snow. Crying

Partly sunny. SE wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Thanks for the new thread Char!Winterberries are such a bright pretty red!

Mayo,
That is pretty nice weather. I think rain for my Christmas and that will melt the snow we currently have, which isn't much.

Linda,
I hope you get all the rain you need!

Temps in the 40's sounds nice Mayo. The morning clouds gave way to bright sunshine and the temp went all the way up to 38! Tomorrow "they" are saying another few inches of the white stuff, nice Friday, then a rain snow mix for Saturday. Finished the shopping and wrapping this afternoon, so glad that is done. Friday is clean house, Saturday is baking... dinner rolls, winter squash, blueberry and chocolate cream pies. (Monday the treadmill comes out of storage Whistling )

Yesterday morning we got a little snow, and it was very windy, gusts up to 33 MPH for awhile, high about 30f. It was interesting to watch the snow swirling crazily around the back yard. It was our annual bird count day, not great weather to entice the birds to the feeders. Glare

It was windy again today but nothing like yesterday, sun and clouds, high was about 34f.

Char,
Laughing! My treadmill has been used since the first cold weather set in. I use it every day! I will not gain back the weight I lost! Thanksgiving and Christmas always gets me!

Margaret,

It's 36 and melting today. I still believe we will have enough snow for a white christmas though.

Linda, that's great that you got some rain Hurray! , but not so good for that darn leak. Angry

No doubt we will have a white Christmas, about a foot on the ground, it is 29f degrees. I love it when it snows Christmas eve and day, not sure it will happen this year.

Thanksgiving and Christmas always get me too. We've just had so many things going on since June that getting on the tread wasn't a priority this fall. I really enjoy my morning walks on it during the winter months when I can't get out to the garden.

We did get about 2" of snow this morning. Woke to 27 with a high of 33 this afternoon. Crossing Fingers! there is enough moisture in the new fluff to make it freeze to the layer of ice. We will definitely have a white Christmas this year.

I'm sorry about the roof leak, Linda.

I heard that it rained here on Wednesday during the day, but we were out of town. I think DH said it was around a half inch. Today they are calling for a high of 57F. There is a 100% chance of an inch of rain tonight, always at night when I am asleep. It is still damp out from raining on Wednesday.
