Didn't know there were some fancy pigeons but that video was especially eye-opening, enjoyed that! As I was watching it, I thought "What the heck?!" Gave me a dizzy feeling just watching them tumble like that.

Aren't they cool? Very acrobatic.
Reminds me of pilots in light aircraft when they turn their engines off and do a controlled dive....except these pigeons are back-flipping.
First time I saw it I thought they'd all forgotten how to fly for a second!

The rollers reminded me of when we used to go to air shows where there was a famous aerial move some of the acrobatic airplanes would do called Lomcevak.

I like that video! That is almost exactly what the birds are doing isn't it? What a rush that would be!!

OK...how do they do that without falling out of hte sky? and WHY do they do that? just because they can?

There is no scientific reason why they do it....most people that have them think that the birds enjoy it....they're playing.

They have been known (rarely) to crash...just like a pilot in an air show that doesn't judge the distance to the ground properly.

My dad had rollers. It was the one thing he and my brothers ever had in common. They were a wonder to behold.
