The results of last Saturdays snow storm were severe in this area with most trees being fully leafed out. I've got some basic questions.

After removing all broken limbs many of my trees are misshapen. The worst examples are the Flowering Magnolia, Weeping Cherry, Japanese Maple and Birch. These are all 35 to 45 year old trees.

I've cut off most of the breaks but given all the branch loss would I be better off waiting until the Spring to prune into shape or do it now? Perhaps wait until they're dormant in a month?
