I couldnt plant perennials where the woodpile was so I use it as an annual bed in summer and woodpile in winter. Just stacked 2 facecords for the early part of this season.
Here are images from this summer and now.

Jo Ann, your woodpile garden is so gorgeous in the summer, and I can sooooo relate to the changes that come with the seasons. Our entire front side of the house is stacked with wood (I kind of love that). DH Tony has been gathering wood for weeks. It always gives us comfort to know we have a lot of firewood... going into winter in the mountains of Colorado, it's just peace of mind. That, and I burn a lot of fires in the fireplace! We use the fireplace more than the heat.

My shade garden has of course had it's transformation as well, but I am learning to love it in all seasons. I'm trying to figure out how to sit out there with a fire in the firepit when there is 3 feet of snow, LOL!

I am so envious of your hostas... I have a few in the shade garden but they've not gotten huge like everyone elses. I need more, bigger hostas! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks springcolor
Dont get me started!!
I need to wait for the new 2012 Rosy Dawn website to show up in a month. Then I start to design the containers nd the Woodpile garden. This makes the winter go more or less without depression.

I had no idea you didnt know about RD. I will also allert when they have a reduced price . They dont always do this but last 2 winters they had 1 dollar off each plant.Their shipping is one price I believe. Last year they had the sale for a short time.
Its usually listed on the other website. So keep your eye open for about January.I think its under co-ops.

I see that you are also a seed starter - do you start your seeds in your greenhouse or just harden them off out there?

Ugh - Jo Ann - I think I keep Rosy Dawn in bizness... Big Grin

Yes, Jo Ann. Thank you for doing that. I will put Dec. 1 on my calendar.
I loved the $1 off per plant they ran last year. A friend and I ordered 10 each but shipped to one address. They set 2 extra ones. Nice plants
If i remember the sale was only for a week or so. Need to have the list ready!! It is hard to choose just a few.

I had wanted 2 expensive clems and couldnt justify the $60.00
I had a big order in to RD so when they put on the sale I saved the $60 because it was a buck off my 60 ordered coleus, they just transferred my order to the sale. They are great like thet.
The clems didnt make it in the long run.

First, I must issue a warning... going to this site could result in new found addictions, loss of money, insomnia due to waking up thinking about a particular plant, and elevated heartbeat. Here ya go: http://www.rosydawngardens.com...
