Leave seed heads on grasses over the winter. The birds will appreciate it.

Cindi: Great tip! We need to do all we can to help our backyard birds survive winter ... leaving seed heads as a food source for them is a great idea and they will indeed appreciate those seeds! Thumbs up

I'm already seeing the tiny birds feeding on the seeds out in the yard and fields around us.

Even down here the birds are beginning to do that.

Good tip Cindi!

I've seen the sparrows on the ground eating...and not near the bird feeder!

Boy, they sure do. Mine were covered with sparrows today, and some blue jays.

Good hint!

Thanks, all. I have taken so many photos of light snowfalls on grass seed heads. It adds some beauty to an otherwise drab time of year.
