Yes caladiun GreyGhost the third container has Miss Muffet .
Grey Ghost didnt emerge from the garden where I planted it, just containre grown.
My gues is the container soil is warmer.Nearly Aug the garden GreyGhosts were planted end of May.

No I always hide it in my flowers so I can't see it. Just want the benefit of it being a host. Unless of course I want to garnish a plate

Do you folks in northern climes buy potted Canna every spring? I started quite a few from tubers(?) and Two are +-1' tall, the rest are 4-6".

I sometimes buy pretoria and tropicanna but they will last for many years if dug up and brought in. I also found that if they are in a small container I can just bring in the whole pot, let it go dormant, and put back outside the following year when temps are consistantly 60 degrees at night. If you put them in the ground here the ground temps should be around 60 degrees. My local University Extension office measures ground temps daily. I think local weather service does it as well.

sometimes I just buy tubers and start them off inside.. sometimes potted up already.. and try to overwinter them if I can
