I have given this some thought and would like to suggest a mortar and pestle.

What do all you think???

I feel it would represent both medicinal and culinary herbs.

I have a grey stone m&p , but I seem to remember reading that Dave liked the black silhouette microbages , like the cat and bear.

Chelle, if you're using PS, you can have a background-less pic if you convert it to a TIFF (you might well know that already, but I thought I'd throw it out there).

I use Paint. It's easy enough that I can figure most of it out. Might be able to do more if I spent more time with it, but...

So, the black silhouette thing won't work with a pestle inside of a mortar ... kinda looks like this:



However, there is free clip art, like this:



or this:



... both of which could be modified in terms of color, shape, etc. And it is possible to take the original pic and use it, just shrink it down, but I'm not certain that anyone would be able to tell what it is.

I think Dave looks for something more like the middle one for a microbadge. And I do think he can fix it. Computer whiz and all that jazz.
