I thought maybe someone might recognize this member of the Cucurbitaceae family (I think..)
It was growing in a front yard in Rio de Janeiro..

I don't remember now if this fruit belongs to the same plant, but it was growing entwined with the previous ..

I found Momordica charantia on delta-intkey Myriam, it looks to have the same leaf shape. There's also a photo on discoverlife, I looked at all the thumbnails in the family and bingo!
