I have always thought that this hybrid rugosa, Polareis, is so stunning ever since the first time I saw one. I don't know why I did not buy it, maybe because I did not know where I could plant a rugosa here in my garden. They are really thorny.
It is a beautiful rose. But "thorny" hardly covers it. Darn stems look like medieval instruments of torture. I need to move mine, but I haven't yet found anyone who rents chain mail suits in my size.
