We just got back from celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with family. What a wonderful time it was with 4 generations present. It seems like it was just a few years ago that we got married.
Now we are planning for the Thanksgiving celebration. There is so much to be thankful for.

On the schedule this week is a girls day out with my best friend to do some Christmas shopping and lunch out. Finish up some orders for fingerless mittens and make some Christmas ornaments to put in Christmas cards. May also be working on scarf/mitten sets later in the week for another order.

Lynn- that's so sweet! I haven't met very many people who have celebrated their 50th anniversary, and it makes me tear up every time! 4 generations- that's incredible!

I hope I'm around when you reach your 50th Trish. What a celebration that will be. It will come faster than you think possible.

I'm sure you are right. Somehow, we hit 15 years this year, and come January, we'll have a teenager! We're sure that we aren't old enough for that!

We never are Trish. I think we go through life seeing ourselves as being younger, at least until I look in the mirror or see a photo of myself.
My oldest grandchild (29) took a photo of me holding our newest granddaughter from our DS and DIL (7 mo.) and our second daughter (mother to the one taking the photo) holding her granddaughter (5 mo). All of a sudden the oldest DGD started laughing. Here were these two amazing babies (second cousins) almost the same age, in a photo with their grandmothers.
Live is full of surprises.

24 years is how long DH and I have been married.

I just wish my mom was still here to look her in the eyes. I do look a lot like my mom. I miss sharing what's going on in the garden with her.

Me too, My Mom has been gone for awhile. I miss her too...

We haven't made any plans yet for Thanksgiving. My mom would be horrified.

Still trying to get caught up on the yard. Today I hope to get the rest of my bulbs in the ground.
Only a few semps left to get out of the flats and into the ground.
A few more shrubs to plant and I will be finished with planting for this year.

Funny how no matter how old we get to be --- when our parents go we still feel like orphans --- grown up orphans.

But at holidays like this I try to remember all the good, wonderful & funny stories about them.

That's what I do Ann. My mother and dad made so many wonderful memories for us to have when they were gone. Now it's our turn to do the same. : )

It's been raining all day. : ( No outside work today.

Rain forces you to get some rest. Or clean the house!

Now I have to kick into high gear. We just got a call from our son and daughter-in-law in D.C.
We are going to have Thanksgiving with them.
Time to make a list of everything that needs to be done before we leave.
