Thought I would share this picture from September. I saw this snake waiting to catch a hummer. I moved it to the barn so it could catch a rat instead. It was a harmless oak snake but I don't want it to get a hummer. This was pretty amazing to see I thought.

Oh my, that would be a shock to walk up on. Is it's bumpy appearance normal, or had it alread eaten an unsuspecting hummer?

I assume Pam took the snake off the feeder & moved it to the barn not that she moved the whole feeder to the barn. Funny, I used to be able to hold harmless snakes but now....... let's just say I'd rather not.

I bet you were young when you did that Ann. I know when I was young I used to poke at King snakes I found around a stock pond with a stick when playing in the pasture. Can't imagine even letting a kid near water at that age now!

Yep, I was. Even took a boa home from school over the holidays to baby sit it. LOL! Darn thing got out of it's cage while I was driving home (escape artists) & got lost in the car ---MOM's car! Uh oh! Heating pad in car, A/C running freezing to get it to go to the heating pad --- Nah. Brother & I finally saw it wound around the springs under the back seat. Didn't have time to take the seat out at that moment. An hour later he had vanished from there. Mom sold the car. Blinking Whistling Shrug! Angel Angel Angel

Well, to be fair she was quite careful about that. She happened to be working in the title dept. of a car dealer at the time. She took the car to work where one of the mechanics LOVED snakes & he tore everything out of the interior of the car including the dash to find the snake. He came up empty. So having done that, she sold it BUT she told the guy who wanted to buy it the whole story so he would know & he wanted to buy it anyway. My mom had a set of ethics she lived by & I hope I acquired mine from her.
