Thank you for the ID, I'll watch for a change in any of the pups. I have my guy separate and spread them out every couple months so I've almost got the whole line covered. The soil is very shallow there as well as the dog pee problem and it does not get much direct sun - none in fact in the winter. I think I started with 4 small plants.
A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.

I think they could be just as happy & vigorous in a pot with similar conditions, warmth, a little direct light, not drying out, plenty of space for roots/rhizomes to roam.

And I forgot to say, all of my buds are forming on brand-new pups that came up from underground this summer. That would explain why I had so few the past few winters. I'd given most of the new pups away to people on here & on FB because they were shorter, needed less trimming to fit in boxes, and new leaves are so much more pretty that I figured people would rather open packages with those than the older, faded leaves formed in previous years. I'd done that starting around Oct 1 so it wouldn't be too cold when they were being shipped. I didn't have time to get into giving away the excess this year because I'm working full time now.

Last weekend it was time to pot up these plants and I didn't have a wide, shallow pot like I wanted. I was cleaning up a little in the kitchen while thinking about potting plants and noticed this pan was shedding its' non-stick coating and was no longer suitable for food. I was heading toward the dumpster with it and DH said why don't I poke some holes and you can put a plant in it?

Ends up being the perfect pot for these, only about 3" deep!

Well I thought I'd seen it all, straw flowers glued onto cacti, heathers sprayed with paint, amaryllis bulbs encased in wax, but this has to take the cake. What an abomination!

Sighing! That is horrible. I can't see how those will sell at all, but I suppose someone will think they're pretty. Sad

Unfortunately, they most likely will sell, as many customers are not informative about these painted plants. They will just think they'll make pretty (glitzy) gifts or decoration. At least that's what the sellers are counting on. They don't care about the customer, just the $$ they spend. Thumbs down

The good news is, they are just stem cuttings and will root and produce new plants. In about a years time, there will be many sprouts coming up from the bases. The bad news is most people will throw them away after they start to wilt. Most will over water them. Price is way too high. In another month or two, should find them on the clearance table.
