The black spots I am talking about is hard, loose, and very tiny. That's the activated carbon from the filter. No big deal. Just don't inhale them into your lungs.
My dad worked where they made the carbon stuff. He died of lung disease at age 63 and he out lived all his co-workers who started around the same time he did. In short, no body made it to retirement there. The new guys work under strick safety requirements now.

Thanks, but I am quit lucky compared to most people today. In my dad's day, most men didn't live past 65 in the labor field. That's why Soc. Sec. was to begin at age 65. They knew they could rob it and would always have more money that they could spend. Well we all see how that worked out. I myself worked in a steel making industry. I was exposed to every know toxic and carcinogen know to man. My health finally gave out and I took a early retirement. Some of my friends didn't and they died before retiring. Very sad, but again I'm luckier than most people today. I thank God every day I still have some health left.
Sorry for the boo hoo story. We'll here to talk our happy past time.

Well, on a positive note, now that we are leaking nuclear waste and spewing oil and toxic chemicals all over the biosphere social security may just work as intended again.

So sad but true. I hear talk of improved medical research that will prolong our lives but nothing about all the deadly toxins killing us slowly. More and more each day. All the talk about safe nuclear power. Where do you put the nuclear waist safely for 100,000 years?? Also not to mention the accidents that will happen. OOOh, now I am depressed. Hoped this wouldn't happen. Guess I'll have to Man-up or Woman-up or what-ever.

No, NO! I am so sorry Stush! ~ come back, no depression allowed! It's counterproductive. We need to plant all that we can and remember, all this prolonged life is causing a glut on the rainbow bridge anyway.

The only caveat to using aquarium water on plants (all) is that occasionally people with aquariums have to medicate the water to fight off various fish diseases. Using tank water is wonderful but just be aware that any medication that has been used may be toxic to your plant.

fleurguy,
How right you are. But if you change water on a regular basis, you will not need any medications to treat your fish. Even sick fish in a large fresh water tank with seasoned water teaming with micro bacteria seem to over come with out meditation. Well with out going into the water chemistry, this is good stuff for plants.

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing It snowed last night. Not much (in fact it will melt off in an hour or so but), Inky has spent the last 2 hours 'vacuuming' the lawn. He is so happy to have REAL water. (Now guess what he will probably spend the afternoon doing? HA!)

After reading my own post, I noticed many words spelled right but wrong usage. I have trouble typing and spelling now wrong grammer. What hope is there for me?? Read between the mistacks. I'm trying. With age it only gets worse. Good thing I don't get paid for this or that I need a job that requires me to know better. Also with age comes wisdom, not spelling.
