Heck, not only dogs eat dirt. I was reminded a time or two by my mother that as a youngun, I used to eat dirt all the time. And I'm still here to tell you so. Hilarious!

LOL I had a doberman who would eat dirt, so I mixed hot chili pepper flakes in with it...turns out she was into spicy food. Grumbling

So, any suggestions on what kind of sprouter to get that doesn't take up much space, and where to find one?

Well, you can actually purchase just the lids and put them on a glass jar you already have ... whatever size works best. I usually use a quart jar. You can order them from Sproutpeople.net or Amazon.com. I'm not advertising for either of those sites and I don't make any money off the sale of their sprouters or supplies, so that's my disclaimer. :)

Health Food stores usually carry them as well as some grocery stores sell just the lids in the kitchen gadget section. And I think Walmart may carry them.

Here is what the lids look like:

Your best bet for an entire tray set-up if you want more than the lid is a Health Food store.

The pulses - lentils, adzuki beans etc. - when sprouted are a vegetable ... and much better for us than non-sprouted. I soak until the wee spot on them (growth point) begins to swell....then I cook them regularly and they are just as delish!!!
It's all about choices.

Carol, is it the adzuki bean they put in the shave ice? I never could figure out why they put beans in a sweet treat. Can you enlighten me? Shrug!
