Keep Up with Your Plants

To create a portable garden Rolodex, trim a plant tag at its base, place it photo side up on a shipping tag, and staple it near one end so you can easily read the flip side. Group the tags on key rings, and make notes about where you sited the plants in the garden or pots. I photographed the tag Rolodex from the magazine where I saw the tip.

Fantastic idea! I'm always saving the plant tags & then they slide all over the place or these get put here & some get put there & then I end up having to search all my "tag places" every time I want to refer to one. This is perfect for keeping them in 1 place & organized. plus I like that you could hang the whole thing on a nail on the shed wall on a hook in the house for easy retrieval.

Thanks!

Excellent! Thanks for sharing that idea, Margaret. That would sure beat leaving them in the soil for the cats to pull out and chew up. Grumbling

That would be nice...if all plants came from the nurseries. Come to think of it, even nursery plants don't always have such tags. Some I've bought had info labels stuck onto the pot. Or the tags/labels were missing entirely. But a friend of mine does 3 X 5" cards and keeps info on most of her plants...so organized! I do SO admire organized people and would like to be reincarnated as one of those!

Awesome idea! If I stick a plastic tag into the ground, it just ends up blowing away. If I punched them and put them on a ring, I could just write on the back info like where it's planted. so glad you posted this idea. Thanks! Thumbs up
