Gorgeous Lithops planter.

Yes on your two identifications. The Euphorbia is E. lactea cristata. Very nice!

Those lithops are beautiful.

In the bottom planter you have Echeveria 'Black Prince' (blooming, it appears) and Haworthia fasciata. I don't know the cacti off the top of my head.

And, yes, agave.

Lovely lovely photos! Whenever I go to local stores, I also admire the plants there. I think them being unlabled, made me think, who cares about their names..but now, having been here in ATP for awhile, I realized, hmm, they all deserve a name somehow....everything before is so generic to me..now, I am learning to be more detailed and observant of their culture once I get their correct name

I have never had lithops in my collection...will try if I can sneak it in without my hubby's eagle eyes

This is a learning and growing process for me. I've grown Lithops before and love them in an earthy piece of pottery and with selected pebbles. They thrive on neglect and are not a plant to fuss over all the time.

Any suggestions on where to purchase the lithops at the best prices? Probably online as I am in IL. Thanks so much, I just love them.

Just a suggestion here ... I actually found some of my Lithops and Argyroderma at Lowe's so maybe keep an eye out at some of your local retail outlets.

Our Lowes actually has quite a nice selection of different cacti and succulents, and they are mostly elaborately and correctly labeled. I'll check and see who the grower is they use as source. And yes, I have seen Lithops there.

Altman Plants of Vista, CA, is the grower for the ones I've bought at Lowe's. Lowe's may source other nurseries as well. I think Altman sells to wholesalers and retailers but doesn't do direct sales, but I could be wrong about that. I've had good success with their cacti and succulents if the store hasn't already half-killed them by over-watering.

I just checked the label on one of the pots and it is also from Altman plants. You are so right about the store overwatering though. In their book, if it's a plant it has to be drenched daily. The one that REALLY gets me is where they make these little dish gardens with succulents and glue the stones on top to ensure they don't fall out....
On a more positive note, friends of mine buy up a LOT of the half-dead plants from Lowe's at pennies on the dollar and I am frequently the beneficiary of some rescue attempts!
