Hi Charleen, I would like to know how to start a forum also. It is so nice to see you here. I guess I will be leaving Cubit's and moving here if I can find a place where my tropical houseplants fit in.
Hope to talk to you soon again. Maybe we will find out how to make a forum if we keep asking. Whistling

Hi Friends. No need to leave cubits to be here. We're all going to move back and forth and stay one big family. I'm confident that Dave and Trish will make it easy.

Dave said that you can move all or some of your cubit, maintain some things at each site. It'll be fun.

Yes, it'll be like having your peaceful little country cottage where you grow and tend your garden AND also having a place in the city where you do your shopping!

RE the forums. I think Dave's idea might be that several people may request a garden-related forum and he would set it up. He or Trish will pop in with the real answer, I'm sure!

Dave or I can create a new forum. As per Dave's usual, we're happy to set up new forums whenever there is an interest by around 5 or so members.

JB- your note on Cubits is next on my list- hang tight!

Trish, Thank you. I will hang tight and long if I know you actually got it. I was not sure it was leaving my site. Rolling my eyes.
In order to have a forum for Tropical House Plants we need 5 people interested in tropicals.
You have an orchids forum and they are tropical, would the people in there count? Where can I see who is here that I know is interested in THPs. I know Steven has jasmine. I know I can get more people if there is a forum for them to come to. There are several customers I have that would like a place like this and do not want to go to DG because they can not find a place. Please give it a try?

Will it be TROPICAL HOUSEPLANTS......TROPICAL IS THE IMPORTANT PART.
Many people think of tropical plants as being those you grow in the tropical climates outside in the gardens.
Just a thought, but Houseplants would then include all types including cactus and succulents and all those others. It depends on who new you want to attract. That is part of the problem with DG. People can not find what they are looking for because the way the forums are named.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Sorry.

I could learn to love tropical houseplants since it's too hot here in our summer for anything to thrive except dirt. (ok,,,a little exaggeration...)

Jacquie, I believe we are going with "houseplants" for the forum name.

Lee Anne has already written some wonderful articles for the cubit, and they all deal with Tropical Houseplants.

There is a separate forum for cacti and succulents, so we can gently steer people in the right place if they post in the wrong place. By all of us working together, we can keep our forums clean, tidy, informative, and on topic.

Jacquie, I'm with you regarding interest in tropicals. Other than orchids, tropicals are my favorite and the more different they are, the better I like them as I'm not really in to conformity.
I've a Murraya paniculata which just finished blooming and it won't be long before it starts again and the scent if wonderful. I posted a pic. of my Mitriostigma axillare which I overfed but I think it's going to be ok as long as I keep leaching the fert. from the soil as much as I can.
So, I too, hope there are people who are interested in tropicals as I think it would be interesting.

Charlene, I'm not sure if I'm posting in in the right place so please pardon me if I have but I wanted to let you know I have watered most of the outside plants and noticed the Jatropha has buds on it and I'm so excited about it. Again, thanks for the wayward see of it.

Once everything is moved over, we'll have a better idea of what we are missing.

If you don't see something, but know there is a cubit for it, you may ask that cubit owner if they plan to move over because you'll miss them here. Big Grin
