I was really surprised. I was just coming in from mowing the lawn and I happened to glance down and there was little Pussy Toes with an open bloom. I had just checked it close on Saturday and saw no signs of any buds, and today it's open. I checked Shindig, which is near by and always one of the early ones to bloom, and it has buds too. Several other of the littles are showing some "fatties" as Rob calls them.



This little tyke is not more then 3 inches tall and blooms every year, usually the first to bloom. A real trouper.

What cute one Tom. Your flowers beat me to it. I have one MDB on order this year though.

This is a good year for MDB's it seems. So many more are being posted.

This should be the first of many. But the next one is a while away yet. Lucy, the more the merrier.

A few warm days and all of the little irises will start putting up bloom stalks. By the time my irises are in their last hurrahs yours begin their show. I will console myself with your, and others, photos.

We have to do something about that, Scott! I'm only 8 miles from the Ill. border, so I'm almost in Northern Illinois!

Mine are not ready yet - even if I do have a handful of established MDBs. Maybe in two weeks...or three!

I was doing garden work over the weekend (LOTS OF IT) and notice buds on "Diggles". Then on Sunday, stalks on "Encore Lady". They were not apparent on Saturday. "Encore Lady" is in my "micro clim" garden area (which I am losing due to too much garden space and too few minutes/hours in the day)

Here's my second one to bloom, and there should be another one open tomorrow.
This is my tinny purple NOID. (although it's not really just purple) It's so velvety and cute, but I don't know it's name. It was given to me as a NOID.
Not the best picture, but I'm charging my camera battery.

I have one little one about to bloom. It'll be my first of ghe season. I'm getting excited, but have about a month to wait yet.
