Everyone is familiar with honey's value in easing the effects of a cold. It is added to hot tea or warm water with lemon to help soothe sore throats and to calm coughs. It has also been used to treat minor wounds and burns.
Margaret, that's WHY I use local raw honey. Used on a regular basis, it really can help with the pollen-type allergies, like I have. Of course, anyone with severe allergies (such as anaphylactic allergies) should check with their allergist first.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White

I saw some honey bees when I was helping Doris weed her seedling beds this week.
Northwest Georgia Daylily Society I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I'll do that second week. My yard marches to the beat of a bohemian drummer...

Orange, Tangerine, Key Lime and Tangelo trees in my yard are in full blossom. The bees have it covered, entirely. I'm not too happy about going out into the yard and definitely watch my black standard poodle when she goes outside. I hear they don't appreciate black? Correct? I wear white and have been thinking of putting a white T-shirt on her - just kidding... but, I do wear white :0

They don't like black and fuzzy because bears and coons are black and fuzzy. Your dog should be fine as long as she stays away from their hive and doesn't interrupt them while they are foraging. You are also safe as long as you don't bother them and don't wear a scent that attracts them to check you out as a possible food source. By now they should have their food stores built up and will not be as aggressive as they were a few weeks ago.
Africanized bees on the other hand are mean no matter what so you want to keep an eye out for those.
Our bees here tend to mind their own business, but what Margaret said is true, and I know of the Africanized bee thing in AZ. So be careful out there, Susie!
