Actually the Harry P. Leu Gardens, a must see for the tropicals. I went in 2004 and it was so hot I didn't get many photos, hope someone else can contribute!

This Garden is mainly known for: America's third largest Camellia collection, Three acres of idea gardens for weekend projects, The largest formal rose garden in Florida, Two acre Tropical Stream Garden, Palm, bamboo and cycad gardens

I don't know if I am allowed to publish their map, but I wish I had seen it before I planned my trip!

How are the walkways for a wheelchair? Pushing my DM's chair can be a pain in the ____!!!
Would like to return, it is with in a day trip for us.

When I was there, we took my Mom in a wheelchair. She mainly wanted to see the rose garden. The ground was relatively flat but some of the gravel paths did deter us from venturing too far, especially in the heat. Hopefully someone will come along with an update.

I will let you know ir we go. If we do it will probable be in March or April or May

When you go, take the guided tour of the mansion. Many interesting historical aspects of why Mr. Leu started and expanded the property. There are also clubs, conventions, workshops, and weddings to participate, so check their calendar. I have pics, but sorry they are archived from several years back.

Ooh I love a plant sale!!!

We visited the annual plant sale / free day that was yesterday and today. Admission was free but had to park several blocks away in the residential neighborhood, because their regular parking filled-up with dealers and members. Nice selection of collector plants, including many local orchid growers. I splurged and paid $10 for a 1 gallon hybrid lousiana iris.
In the garden area, all the camelias and azaleas were completely bare of blooms, because of the early spring we have had. Many of the trees and bushes are rare unusual species collected from around the world.
