Antigonon leptopus

Common name: Coral Vine.

Antigonon leptopus is a perenial plant native to Mexico. It is naturalized in some South state of USA.

I read it is invasive plant in Florida. http://plants.ifas.ufl.edu/nod...
So, I'm sorry, but you from Florida must pay attention if you wont to grow this plant.

I met this plant in Texas in Goliad, Beeville and Corpus Christi.
I saw it only in urban area. As much as I can tell, is that it is naturalized in Texas, but I think it has not invasive behavior in these areas. Of course, I can not make accurate overall assessment. But I never met her, outside urban areas.

It is a vine, it climbing on fences, trees and even on the poles.
The plants, that I have seen, had a very beautiful pink color.
It's a very beautiful plant. Rich blooms. Flowering period is long. But caution should be if it turns out to be invasive in your area.

I love those small lots situated in urban area. They can be very rich in wildflowers and very beautiful.

Time was cloudy. Perhaps because of that flowers were not open.
