Marilyn said:The pic in the lower right hand corner shows Penstemon 'Red Rocks'. Is that one of them you were talking about?

The next pic shows Crocosmia 'Lucifer' on top and different Agastaches on the bottom. Are they what you were talking about?

Yup! Sounds good, Thank you. I tip my hat to you.

I have enjoyed looking at all the lovely photos of the gardens. It helps bring a little sunshine to an otherwise cold dreary winter day.

Susan,

I used to have 'Twilight', 'Sunset', 'Jade' and some others, but mainly it's 'Magnus' growing here.

Thanks everyone for the nice words. I tip my hat to you. Green Grin! Whistling

Thanks, Susan. They are Viola pedata 'Eco Artist Palette'.

I have yellow coneflower which has done wonderfully, 'Magnus' and another purple, 'Meringue' (a white), Tomato Soup (red) and 'Sunset'. And Tennessee Coneflower (Echinacea tennesseensis) which does quite well here in TN. Image that. Green Grin! Love them all!

Sounds good!! I am getting seed for Tennessee coneflower, I have sundown and it got off to a bad start, actually they all did except PowWow Berry, and I had a huge clump of the Eastern coneflower. The Maui Sunshine didn't do well either. I believe the bed was to moist I am going to move them in the spring to a better spot. I got four liners in september, Blinking Can't remember what they were, most were secret something. I ordered hot summer , pink double delight and hot papaya from Burpee, Crying I guess I forgot to look them up. Blinking From Hallson's I ordered 'Green Jewel' and a few Hostas. SMH, I need more hostas like I need a hole in my head! Oh glad to hear tomato soup is performing well, I've had my eye on that one. How long have you had it?? What kind of yellow coneflowers do you have?? I just planted some Paradox for winter sowing.

Susan, I wish I had known you were buying seeds for the TN Coneflower. I have plenty I've saved and would have gladly sent you some. Crying

I've got my eye on that PowWow Berry and Green Envy. We've only been here for a little over two years. The coneflowers were planted when we first moved here ... summer of '09.

The yellow one I have is 'Big Sky Sunrise'. It has done wonderfully. Just noticed that I have 'Twilight' rather than 'Sunset'. I tend to get those names confused. Green Grin!

I bought Green Envy but am not really bowled over by it. It seems to bloom with more purple on the petals than green. From a distance it looks pale purple as a bunch.

I wonder about cross pollination with the purple cones in the same garden?

I've thought about cross-pollination, Jo Ann. I had read somewhere that is a distinct possibility with the Cones. I thought that had happened to my 'Tomato Soup' because it started out so orange-y this past year. But it turned redder as the season went on.
I garden for the pollinators.

Its the only explanation I could come up with. I also have SunDown a soft salmon that gradually goes to purple near the cone.
Its beautiful when it first blooms but it gets darker and rust colored blotches appear as it goes out of bloom. I keep it but if it dies it wouldnt tare me up.
This is SunDown with agastache apache sunset
