Rain now, light snow in our area. We usually put up the tree just 2 or 3 days before Christmas.

The purple loosestrife has been banned in MA. They also imported a wasp which only feeds on that plant. Goldenrod takes over our garden. I like it in some places (near the barn) but it interferes in other beds.

That makes alot of sense, as it was a thug, albeit a pretty one, in my garden, Lucy.

I agree about Goldenrod. It can look nice in some spots...

Smiling Tee!

Oh, Lucy, they sure are pretty in arrangements!

I remember making an Artemesia wreath and sticking the Goldenrod in for a wonderful Fall wreath!

Dang! I have GOT to remember to plant a few varieties of the Artemesia this Spring!!

That meadow is back behind the barn...it's where I want to toss the clay seed-balls whenever we get around to making some.

Finished planting the bulbs today! *Whew*, I was starting to sweat it a bit...worried I wouldn't get them in before the ground froze. It's freezing about an inch deep now every night....just enough to firm it up a bit so that we don't sink when we walk on it. Smiling Boy, were my boots a muddy mess though!

Great job, Chelle! Hurray!

I think bulb planting in cold weather is one of the worst and hardest gardening jobs.....

Chelle, I can't believe you're still doing yard work in your zone. It's too cold for me! I really try to get my yard ready for winter early because I so hate the cold weather. It really has been a warm fall here, but I woke up to 25° today. And it has been so wet- seems it's always raining. This has been our wettest year ever- 69.9" so far. Normal year-to-date is 39.9".

I guess I have no excuse, other than living in a fairly warm zone. Even though it snowed yesterday ( Grumbling ) it was bright and sunny today and I got my last set of bulbs in. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
