Oh, what happy, beautiful cats, Zuzu!

Porkpal, that's the perfect caption,...... I just LOVE it!!!

They love roses, too, I see! Hilarious! ...or the boxes they came in.

Great kitty shots, Zuzu! They're absolutely adorable. But my cats are real loners and prefer iris boxes!

Adorable kitty, Betty. Mine have always shared the boxes. Here's one from five years ago in a Pickering box.

But they don't share bags.

Is it an illusion or is that a very large orange cat?

Lumpia was a big boy, but it's an illusion of sorts. Ambrosia and Pepplegoose are all scrunched up and he's stretched out full length.

They are fantastic, Betty! Turns out there was room in the box for four anyway. I guess Roger didn't ask nicely when he approached.

LOLLLLLL.. that's hilarious. Love how they're all squinched together like that. Better to keep warm!

This past Saturday, I took in my Nyx & Tara to get fixed. Nyx is a boy, Tara's a girl.. possibly siblings. Definitely didn't want them to breed, no no no. Nyx was a fully functional male, but Tara never really went into heat, so I was worried that she was preggo. They are both 8 months old (born April 1st). Come to find out that Tara wasn't going to be able to have kittens anyways.. her uterus was too small and was missing some other internal organs (ovaries? Doc didn't say). So had to drive through a snowstorm Sat morning to get them to the clinic before they closed for the day (they take a VERY limited number of kitties.. but for $25 w/shots, who can complain!), then wait 5 hours, and pick 'em up. It wasn't as bad going to go get them.. was still snowy & icy, but the roads were a lot more passable. Yesterday it was nice.. almost 30 degs. Woohoo! But, then another snow storm came through last night. It was almost too cold to snow so all we got was the Colorado Gold (powder). The ski resorts are lovin' it. I personally wouldn't mind if I could get rid of this damned cold though.. Bleh!! It's only 6 degs out there right now...

WooHoo! My Hortico roses arrived today and they look just great! Janice, thanks so much for bringing Hortico back to my attention. The accuracy of the labeling remains to be seen, of course, but if they all turn out to be the roses I actually ordered, I'll be delighted to start shopping at Hortico regularly again.

Thumb of 2011-12-06/zuzu/638355

If you enlarge the photo, you'll see all nine. The one on the far left is a beauty. It and the one closer to the middle with all those many canes are Austins -- Sweet Juliet and William Morris.

There are nine of them, and they're supposed to be:

Magic Beauty
Martha Allen
Audrey Wilcox
Creme Caramel
Darling Annabelle
Expression
Sweet Juliet
William Morris
Just Joey

All but Just Joey will be new to my garden. What fun!

They actually look as good as the Palatine roses, but they cost less. Palatine charged me $148.60 for 8 roses, plus $25.75 for shipping, and Hortico charged me $134.91 for 9 roses, plus $19.00 for shipping.

But I need to be thanking YOU, Zuzu, because I learned of Hortico from your earlier posts somewhere on this forum! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Hurray! They all look great!!!

Yes, me too! I hope all turn out to be the correct rose!

Toni, what lucky cats to have such a caring Mom to take them to the vet in snowstorms! Thumbs up

Yes, Toni's a highly devoted pet owner. That's a great price, Toni, and does this take care of all of them now, or do you have more for neutering?

Zuzu - Still have Loki to get fixed. Nyx needed it.. desperately. LOL. He never sprayed, but he marked the dog bowl every day. (dog food bowl? Why the dogfood bowl? at least it was easy to clean...) Loki's only 4 months old & I'm going to put it off as long as I can. I'll make sure he never breeds, but I want him to keep his little pelotas for as long as possible to get as much growth in his bod as possible. All the kitties I got fixed at 6 months or younger are all small squirts. The ones who kept their bits are all monsters. My biggest kitty now, since Osiris passed away, is Odin, and he's a chunky 17lbs, no fat. I got him fixed at almost a year, but he never marked. But the kitty box.. woo was it stinky! He's musclebound.. especially in his head. Not a bright kitty, Mr. Odin. Osiris was about 8 months when I got him fixed & he was huge. Not heavy, but long long long (almost 4.5 from tip of tail to tip of front foot if stretched out like SuperCat). Thor's also a very long kitty, but not heavy (only about 11lbs). Conan, my bigfatbubbaboys, he was fixed when he was between 2-4 years old (he was a old tom cat off the streets of Miami) and he got his name because he was SOO muscle-bound. On the flip side, Flowers is a tiny little girl, probably 5lbs and is the same size of Nyx, even though she's 2 years old. Same with Cybele.. the vet thought that she was 5 months old when we got her microchipped and had to explain, no, she's 3 years old. Only one who's not tiny being fixed early is Raiden. But Raiden.. well, he thinks he's a dog, so that doesn't count.

But Loki's .. well, to be honest, I'm going to be sad when I get him fixed as he's so gorgeous. But there's too many kitties, not enough good homes. If you can excuse the messy table, here's a picture of him when he was about 9 weeks old.

This morning when I got to work it was a whole 1.9degs out there. It's a little cold for this time of year, we usually don't see this kind of weather until February. Maybe spring will come early? I'm oogling those nice roses from Hortico.. maybe I should look over their list & see if there's anything I can't live without. Smiling

Zuzu - any idea why Hortico would mark Blue Moon as the same as Blue Girl? This is from their website:

BLUE MOON
aka: Blå Måndag Blue Girl (hybrid tea, Tantau, 1964) Blue Monday Mainzer Fastnacht Navo-Rose Sissi ® Sissy TANnacht TANsi TANsi 0343
Cat # HTBLMO10

But Blue Girl is from Kordes (from HMF: Bred by Reimer Kordes (Germany, 1964). Introduced in United Kingdom by Wheatcroft in 1964 as 'Blue Girl'.)

Only reason why I'm asking is that I don't have Blue Moon yet but I have lots of Blue Girls running around.
