I've tried to add a couple of hostas today. I'm clicking on "add the plant" (or whatever it says) and nothing happens. Is there a problem?

No. Nothing. I tried to enter Hosta 'Ovation' and clicked on it several times. There's a message not to enter quotes, but I hadn't done so. Also tried to enter the clausa var. normalis.

Are you entering "Hosta" into the Genus field? That's where it belongs.

ViolaAnn, you don't need to add the plant- it has already been added/entered.
Seach for the plant "hosta ovation" and you get these choices
http://garden.org/plants/searc...

Just click on the plant's name and the page opens
At the bottom of the page you get options to add a photo, data, comments, etc.
