I am just so bad with houseplants, lol! I bring in my favorite planters, stick them in the guest room in front of the windows, and then kind of forget about them for months, Hilarious! Hilarious! So by spring I have to cut them way back and start caring for them like I should have all winter, and hope they pull out of months of neglect. So I have lots of bare space in my pots, and thought maybe I'd just try starting some seeds Rolling on the floor laughing And I've never had luck with 4 oclocks outside, so thought maybe inside I could grow some. But I'll check with the seed people! Thanks!

Yep, I'm thinking I'm definately going to have to move them if they grow Hilarious! Sure hope they grow tho. I'd love to have some in the yard. If I could just get some to start and take off, I'd let them reseed themselves every year so I would have them all the time Big Grin

Is anyone trying to force bloom any tulips, daffs, or such for Easter or spring? I did some last year and they were a wonderful centerpiece, so am trying to time it right this year.

I would try them if I didn't have so many Amaryllis littering the place... Hilarious!

Those look wonderful! Your house is going to look wonderful for spring when they all start blooming! Awesome! Hurray! Do you plant them outside then when they are through blooming in pots?

Jmorth, what a fabulous array of forcing bulbs!

And the perfect setup, having their own fridge!! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Bet they'll be amazing!

I've never forced mine in a fridge. Is that the way you are supposed to do it? I know very little about such things, just thought I would try it last year for the first time, and had them the week after Easter blooming, so am trying another pot this year. But, I just stuck mine in a pot with some dirt, and watered them some, left them on the kitchen table, and they eventually bloomed. Nothing anyway near as impressive as your displays!

That's one way to force (refrigerator). Another way is to bury pots in a trench outside. I also use an outside covered stairwell to the basement as illustrated herewith. Under the blanket is a large tote full of more tulips and daffodils, the pots have lilies in them.

I do put the daffodils into the garden after forcing but discard the tulips.

I personally like my plants to be outside so I have no houseplants and I don't start any seeds inside.

I watch Netflix rented DVDs in the winter and read a lot. I love to read all sorts of fiction. I don't have time for any of that come the warmer weather as I spend so much time out in my garden.
