This tree is growing at the amazing SFA-Mast arboretum in Nacogdoches, TX. The blooms occur in the undersides of the branches and hang straight down.

Anybody know what it is?

Ahh, my memory has been fully jogged. This is not a Styrax americanus, but rather Styrax japonica. It's a showier species than our native one.
