Great shot, Janet!

I really like the look of this plant! Alstroemeria is a plant that I know little about; I need more information.... Whistling

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Mat.6:28-29

Thanks, Janet!

Did you originally start this from roots or a cutting?

I'm thinking that with the growing conditions you described in your comment, that I might be able to overwinter a pot of these. I'd sure be interested in attempting it!

I bought it in a pot from ebay chelle, I wish I had been able to take more plant pots inside last winter but my house already gets full of tender plants for winter! The extreme cold came so quickly and early in December last year and it was so bitterly cold all I could do was bring in a few I had not yet brought inside, the rest had to stay where they were. When such bad weather hits you never know just how bad it will be, and it's impossible to protect everything when you have as many not fully hard plants as I had. I have to view it as an opportunity to downsize but that doesn't stop me from wanting them all again! Rolling my eyes.

I found one to order in the Spring. *Blush*

Like I don't have enough plants already! Rolling on the floor laughing This online company says some folks have grown it in my zone, with protection. We shall see...

It's already been down to about 10 degrees Fahrenheit here....kind of early for us. We usually don't get quite that cold until February, so I know what you mean as far as being caught unprepared and over-stocked with tender goodies. I was going to bring in a Papyrus, but I fear it may have gotten too cold in the (unheated) GH already...

Good luck! Remember my temperatures are in centigrade, but if you have it in the ground and well mulched it will be better than in a pot with very cold temperatures.
