Want to add these pix to ATP database but don't have plant id. Found in garden center in Ft Lauderdale and at QEII Botanical Gardens in Grand Cayman.

I believe it is Aechmea blanchetiana, very common around here but none the less beautiful.

Yes, could be the Aechmea blanchetiana bromeliad if they are common there. Looks like more than one kind of bromeliad in the pictures.

I think they are the same. This Plant gets more orange as it gets more sun, so if it is in part-shade it will not be as brilliant and be more greenish. They are awesome plants! I have several blooming now. They get big, and their saw-toothed edges are vicious, but it's worth it!

Yes Hetty you are correct. They nursery also called it the full sun bromeliad.

Yes Tee. Added the pix to the data base. So funny, I thought it was some sort of succulent. Should have guessed by the color it was a tropical Hilarious! Hilarious!
