I think that is what is so fun about this site - seeing climate, plant timing, and growth stages. So it is still interesting to see gardens in the early stages nodding
And BOY don't I know what you mean by rain! We went from torrential downpour pours to 100 degree drought over night! Crazy weather

Had the day off from the day job so I harvested the garlic before the Gophers could eat it all!
This is Armenian garlic from Get garlic.com. They are a wonderful family business with beautiful delicious garlic.

Really nice-looking garlic, Toni -- you should add that photo to the plant database (I see you already have one there of the plant itself). Thumbs up

That's pretty much what we're doing... it's not in the "middle middle" of the lawn, but it does have lawn surrounding it on all sides. Still a work in progress, but it will have a border of landscape timbers to define where the bed ends and the lawn starts, and (hopefully) make it easier to mow and trim around. I know the plants will be able to spread to the lawn underneath that border, but hopefully mowing will keep them from getting out of hand. Or else we'll have a raspberry farm Hilarious!

That is wonderful. But may I offer a suggestion about framed beds to make them easier to mow around?

Get a roll of 10" wide sheet aluminum and attach it to the bottom of the frames so it sticks out at ground level. You will never have to trim around the frames again! Standard mowing will work just fine.

Yardenman, wouldn't the sheet aluminum get awfully messed up by the lawn tractor running over it?

Anyway, I like trimming -- just call me Weedwhacker! Hilarious!

All I can say is that it's a good thing you live so far away from me or I would be raiding your garden and stealing some of those raspberries. Wow!! They are beautiful. Thumbs up

Its because you do such a good job on growing it, they know it will taste great! No sense going down the block where they do not take care of their gardens.
