Should I repot it to a bigger pot. I have two more plants starting from the roots.

Pegi, If you will notice on my comments about the plant in the database you can plant it right out directly into the ground in your zone.

Orchid (Epidendrum fulgens)

I will mention also that there is a yellow variety which does not get quite as leggy tall --- it stays more compact.

Pegi: Ann is correct with the identification. I thought it might be Epidendrum and it sure looks like E. fulgens. This isn't the greatest picture, it's a small yellow Epidendrum that I lost it to very cold temperatures before I even got the chance to plant it out.

They will also get 'Keiki's' or pups along the branches which, once they have some roots, you can snip off and plant out.
I find these are happiest in a very loose mix, as a matter of fact I start the babies in straight mulch.
There also is a fuchsia colored variety, and a very handsome deep red one that gets bigger. I believe the latter is a hybrid since it doesn't seem to produce offspring.
Here is a bunch of mine that are naturalized under the Plumeria tree.

Here is the Yellow variety. It is a bit better behaved as Ann said.

Pegi what a treasure of a plant you have. And it can be grown in the ground in your area.
Wow, look at all the colors. Sigh, wish I could grow something like that in the ground.

Thank you all for the information on my pretty plant. To think it wasn't going to do anything I almost decided to get rid of it. Wouldn't that have be horrible thing to do. Glad I kept it. Must pass this info to my sister as she didn't know what it was either. Sure would love to get the other colors. Group hug Lovey dubby

Pegi, you have one last thing to do. None of us can do it because we didn't start the thread. You have to mark it as closed.
