I just checked Maryott's website to find a daylily I was looking at this year, and I discovered that he's adding daylilies to his listings for 2012. By the time I'd discovered APACHE SUNRISE, BRIAR PATCH, HAPPY HAPPY, PARROTS OF THE CARIBBEAN and OVER HEATED I knew he had to be updating. It looks like he's up to the R's in the full formed daylilies now, and I seem to remember reading somewhere that he will be posting his new introductions next month.

That website scares me- I ordered from them last year and got absolutely astounding plants, and I just KNOW I will have to order from them in the spring. The problem will be keeping my order reasonable Rolling my eyes. ~Jan

They start adding the photos first then put the prices later. Their site is usually done in March, so that is when the prices will probably be put on there.

Oh mEEEE. I'm going to spend hours trying to decide what I want to buy from them in 2012. I've only bought from them one time this last year, well actually it was two orders but they were combined. I know for a fact, God willing, that I will buy from them again. They are the best. The good part, I'll wait to order late because I know they wil have a great sale in the fall. That is unless they have something I think I must have and buy it so it won't sell out.

He sure has added many many new ones and looks like he's not finished. Oh so much fun!!

Blessings to all, Mona

I have had a few conversations with John and I just love his Southern Drawl. Had to make him keep repeating imself as I could not understand him half the time Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing . They do send amazing plants and all the extras are off the charts. Faye sent me a group of Blue/White Dips. she thought I should have here to use and a note with them. That was so nice.

Oops -- I'll bet you're thinking of Marietta Gardens, Steph -- This is Maryott's out in California (Bill Maryott). But I totally agree about John Shooter's Southern Drawl! He called me once about my order, and I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what he was saying...

Bill Maryott is a great hybridizer and a great marketer! I told him that at our Fall Fling in October, and he did not disagree with either! His collections are very good for individuals or club plants. So many good ones for so little! Extra fans are the norm, as he'd rather give you 1-2-3-4 extra fans instead of dividing them. It's all part of his very efficient garden procedures that he has refined over the years. It's definitely a win-win situation. His new intros are wonderful, his older introductions and general listings deals are very good. He's not paying for this ad- we just love great deals! We ordered our club reward plants from him after 2-3 years ordering from Leslie Mauck of the Busby's sale flowers (those are very good deals also, but we had already acquired many of those for our club). We will probably order from him again this year fo rour club. All fans are huge, and, did I mention, he gives many extras fans!!

I had already decide that if I do find somewhere to add new plants this year, the only place I will be ordering from is Maryott's! The plants I got last year blew me away! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Actually, I just contacted Bill about a week ago to see when he will post his 2012 introductions, and he was in Kauai for a week, getting back just about now, and then going somewhere else for another week or so. But near the end of January he said his priority will be to get his new introductions posted. I also invited him to visit ATP and join in if he wishes, and requested he give his permission to post his introductions in our database, and he responded a big "yes" so we'll see how things go.

He has such fantastic plants and the most amazing gift plants -- both size/quality and quantity! And I can see on his website that he's added quite a few of the newer daylilies this time around. But I suspect he'll hold off on posting prices until he's about ready to take orders.

Love his plants as are just huge healthy things and he takes such care in shipping only the best of the best. He has had some really great introductions and it would be awesome to get input from him. I will certainly shop there again.

Yes, it's a real beauty and I just loved it when I saw it at Maryott's. It doesn't have that lush edge here for me, but the colors are wonderful and I still love it!
