It looks like you missed some of the flowers.
It needs to be repotted, and may only have a hint of roots at this stage judging from the lack of fully formed leaves, but I would not do it now, it will likely abort the inflorescence.

I need to get pictures of my plants, they are getting so big, looks very healthy but no blooms all summer, they are in pots outside when it got extremly hot I put them in my plant room, that is glass all around. they are now back outside but since we are expecting a lot of rain I may have to bring them in again.

Just took another set of photos today of my one and only Plumeria, just an update. Mine is a reverse situation I guess, though it has yet to really open any of its leaves, it still manages to send out her blooms. I will take what I can get out of her Smiling Somehow it seems to like the onset of Fall.

Do you see why I have to do something with this. It is all sprawled out and I know pot is too small. Poor things. Is it going to hurt them to transplant this fall/winter????

Charleen, that is certainly an option. The size it is, it will need more growing space (read: bigger pot). Just remember, if you take off the tip you will sacrifice blooms for the year.
Both of you ladies are growing plumeria outside of their 'comfort zone' and so will have to work a little harder to get them to thrive and bloom! The key is a very well draining mix, possibly extra light hours and fertilization.

AHhhhhh, no wonder I'm having so much fun, huh?? They sure love the Charley tea (manure tea) I gave them. No wonder they got all top heavy, huh?? But the smell of that little bloom was heavenly.

Am I understanding this correctly that when they break dormancy in the spring they'll send up blooms before they send out leaves?

Mine are 5 years old now and still no sign of flowers...and I fertilized this summer and put them in full sun.

If I don't let them go dormant could I still see blooms in the winter? in the house?

They CAN send up blooms before they send out leaves.

Lee Anne, your full sun does not quite equal full sun in the tropics and that is what may prevent your plant from blooming. Most northern growers will supply additional light hours in order to make plumeria bloom.

So I might need to keep them in the house under lights all year long?

Hetty is right I agree , Plumeria can send out flowers first before leaves, it is happening in my plant. I got this plumie as a stick in winter, and following all the guidelines generously given here and in other different forums, I took my time really babying this stick, stick as she is, it did give me some flowers as is shown on the photos.

Seeing their natural tropical habitat in the Philippines, they do take tons of heat from the sun but there is also extreme humidity and rainfall.

Knowing I cannot duplicate that kind of humidity here, I really have to be mindful of the temperature. That is how my little plumie stick is growing here. Oh, plus that good fertilizing regimen that Hetty has suggested sure works. Now my challenge is, hopefully I can make this little gal go into its winter hiatus and grow back cycle safely. Big Grin

Lee Anne, you do not need to keep them in the house under lights all year round but you may need to give them some extra light hours in the shorter days of the year. Like in spring and late summer/fall.
There are many northern growers, and they get them to bloom successfully, but you need to jump through a few more hoops than those of us lucky ones who have the right climate for them to begin with.

Tarev, Plumeria are native to the Caribbean and Central America. Similar climate, of course, to the Philippines!

Hi all, I'm in the right climate and they are native to the area but I don't have enough space with full sun to put them in the ground. So, I have mine on the roof in big pots in full tropical sun, they all bloom. Elsewhere here I see them as trees, upward of 20' or more and very full. The smell is heavenly when you walk under one in full bloom. I just wish more of the hybrids that I see on this site were available, some of your pictures have the most incredible blooms. I'll post some pics of my stragglers on the roof and, if you'd like, some of the really huge ones around the city.

do you think it is a variegated? the other is dark green which i expected and it is getting lost of direct sun from 1130 am to sun set.

I am not good at waiting how am i going to tell when my seed pods are ready? with out letting them open and me chasing seeds all over the yard? although that might be a funny site to see Hilarious!
