I am glad to know I have found the Queen of the Plumerias. : )
I have one lonely plumeria my Aunt gave me two years ago. It is pretty pittiful. It's stalk is nice and plump but it doesn't grow any bigger and not many leaves. I know this is the dormant time for them, but it didn't do well last summer at all. What kind of soil should I use to repot it into a bigger container? What and when do you fertilize it? Hope you can help me.

All my good pictures are still on my old computer. I got a new laptop for xmas and still haven't transferred all my old garden photos. That's how lazy I am lol.

This is a 3 yr old seedling that bloomed in late Dec right before it froze. Not great looking but has a nice jasminy fragrance and made lots of flowers.

I had one confused plant blooming on 12/15! I don't know the name of it, bought it in a co-op of yellow, pink, white varieties.

Lynn, I'm sorry your plumeria is not thriving. I see you live in Oregon, which is probably the reason why. Plumeria are tropical trees and if you want them to do well there, you will need to supply extra heat and sunshine hours. Maybe some other northern growers will chime in with advice here.

flgardegurl, - ditto - and if this is the first bloom cycle on your seedling you could get an improvement of color in the next few bloom cycles. It sounds like it doesn't need any improvement in the scent department!! Not to mention that 'lots of flowers' is what we all hope for....

I recently planted 8 seeds and so excited as 5 of them are popping up, I have never had these befor and know I will have to keep them in pots as it is too bad in the winter, but I am looking forward to having some of those beautiful blooms.
How long does it take to get blooms once the plant is up.

I pot mine in Fafard 52, which is peat, perlite, and wood chips. I add a little more perlite. If you have access to pumice, I think that would be good to add, too.
Mine didn't do much last spring, but in mid- summer I potted them up in larger pots and they really took off.

DUTCHLADY, I had to go to DG to make sure, you are the one I got my Plumerea seeds from, they are now comming up, I have five of them showing green

Give them space to get big and strong! I have sent you a Cmail.

I'm ready for warm weather!

Warmer weather is coming here this weekend, we'll finally get into the seventies. I have a lot of yard work planned, one part of which is fertilizing my awakening plumeria!

Are those all flower buds?

I saw leaves starting on my plumerias this morning, it must mean spring is on it's way!

That is an inflorescence, yes (or inflo), which is a cluster of flower buds.

I love the yellow, I am getting anxiouse to get flowers and I only just did get seedlings

Soon I hope there will be lots more traffic at this site. My plumeria are poised for the blooming season and I am anxiously waiting to see who will win the race for 'first bloom of the year' this time around. My money is on Plumeria stenopetala, pictured here in a photo from last year
