On January 8th an old inflorescence from last year gave me one more bloom.... not exactly the first bloom of the 2011 growing season though, but what a welcome sight! This is variety 'Donna S' which is known for its long lasting inflos.

lovely flowers Hetty, mine went dormant for the winter and I am surprised how fast they are showing signs of life since I put them in the sunroom.

How long do they take to start to open?
Will they bloom drop if I move the planter?

Don't want to rock the boat....lol!

Those buds look like they are about 3-4 weeks from opening. I wouldn't necessarily change their position too much at this point. Does it get sun?

It's at work in a south facing window and receives sun from sunup to about 2 hours before sundown.
A roof overhang will start shading it from the noon sun, from say 11AM-1PM, in about a month.
I can bring it home to my GH if needed.
I'd mark the orientation and set it up in exactly the same position.

Now is a good time to give it some timed-release fertilizer if you haven't yet done so.

I've been giving it a weekly watering w/ a light fert mix.

That probably gives it more growth than you need since you are keeping it indoors. I would switch to a well-balanced timed release (10.10.10 or similar).
